Most of you know that working in Outline View can save a lot of time on preparation of the presentation; your mind is concentrated on ideas, the content and not design of the slides. It is necessary though, to know something about working in Outline View to be productive.
As soon as you create a new presentation you can go to the Outline View (second tab of the left pane in PowerPoint XP - or in PowerPoint 97 second button of the view bar) and start working by typing the title of the slide. To create a new slide, press ENTER. Now type the title of the new slide. If you want to start typing bullets, press a combination of two keys, CTRL and ENTER, together. This will result in the first bullet. Any subsequent pressing of the ENTER key will create a new bullet. When you finish entering bullets and are ready to continue with a new slide, press CTRL and ENTER again.
With this simple procedure you will create the structure of your presentation and be able to move on the second stage of the production - formatting.
