PPS files are PowerPoint files which are often distributed in place of the original .ppt files because they open immediately in full screen/presentation mode, and not inside a PowerPoint editing screen.
This format makes it easy to send PowerPoint presentations to other people and have the slide show start as soon as they double-click the .pps file. Unfortunately this works fine only if the recipient has PowerPoint installed.
What to do when you have a .pps but do not have Microsoft Powerpoint installed on your computer?
Can you still open that file?

QUESTION: A relative of mine sends me email containing .pps files. I do not have PowerPoint on my computer.
Can I open these files?
Thanks.
