Distributing A Powerpoint Presentation: Output Alternatives
Several alternatives are available to presenters to deliver their PowerPoint presentations to different and varied audiences.
New media technologies allow us to ”export” a PowerPoint presentation to the following media formats:
PowerPoint Show(*.pps)
Useful when you need to send your presentation to someone just to be shown and not edited.
Portable Network Graphics Format (*.png)
Useful when you need to show your presentation on a PC with no PowerPoint installed. In order to save a presentation in such format, you may follow the PACK and GO Wizard from the File Menu.
Web Page(*.html)
Useful when you need to publish your presentation on the Internet so that everyone can see it.
Graphics Interchange Format(*.gif)
Useful if your presentation has graphics and/or stats. This format provides high quality even for print resolution.
JPEG File Interchange Format (*.jpg)
Useful to maintain a good photo resolution in your presentation. This format also provides web compatibility.
Flash(*.swf)
Useful if you need to send PowerPoint files via e-mail while maintaining a high degree of control on your content. This format also reduces the file size and allows sound integration, Internet distribution and a higher compatibility with all machines.
