How To Scale Objects Automatically In A Powerpoint Presentation

In PowerPoint the Scale command allows you to enlarge or reduce an object (ClipArt, autoshapes, images, photos) very precisely, while keeping its original proportions.

To automatically scale any object placed on a PowerPoint slide, follow these steps:

  1. Double-click on the object you wish to scale. The Format Autoshape dialog box will appear showing all properties for the object.

  2. Select the Size Tab at the top of the dialog box.
  3. Format_Autoshape.gif

  4. Set percentages to the desired amount inside the Height and Width text fields from the Scale pane.

  5. Click OK to confirm the changes.

To avoid distorting the object while resizing it and to make sure that its proportions are kept intact, select Lock Aspect Ratio.
