How to Extract Images From A Powerpoint Presentation

QUESTION: Dear All,

I just received a PowerPoint slide show that contains about 40 pictures that are
wonderful. It's a 4 MB file. I would like to retrieve them from the PowerPoint file so that I can use them elsewhere. How do I do that?

I used to teach PowerPoint but haven't used it for almost 10 years.

Thanks

Gene

ANSWER: Gene,

The quickest way to get the 40 pictures from PowerPoint is to:

  1. Go to the "file" menu and choose "Save as....."
  2. Change the "file type" from "presentation" to "JPEG" (or any other graphic file format...png, wmf, etc)
  3. Choose OK and PowerPoint will ask if you want to save just the current slide or every slide.

How to optimize or improve the quality of these images? Improve PowerPoint's GIF, BMP, PNG, JPG export resolution.
