How To Get Rid Of The Pop-Up Menu Displayed In A PowerPoint Slide Show

QUESTION: Dear Masterviews guys,

I am a PowerPoint 2002 user and I have a problem when running a slide show, a small triangle appears at the bottom left of the slide and when you click it, it shows different slide show options.

I'd like to know how to get rid of this damn thing.

Thanks in advance,

Paul K.

ANSWER: Dear Paul,

thank you for your interesting question!

Other people during PowerPoint classes often asked me about this.

That small triangle you mentioned is the slide show pop-up menu and it allows, among other options, to navigate among slides, to show the speaker's notes and to end the show.

To get rid of this pop-up menu is very easy: once you have your presentation opened, go to Tools=>Options=>View=>Slide Show and uncheck "Show pop-up menu button".

Please note that this setting will affect all of your future presentations.
