How To Show Two Presentations Looping Automatically

If you want to link two presentations and make them seamlessly loop into each other, here is what I would suggest you to do. You may create a timed automatic transition with a seamless effect that switches between shows without using a mouse click. The technique that I will show you entails the creation of a timed automatic transition that switches between shows without using a mouse click.

Here are the individual steps, for PowerPoint 2002:

  1. Make sure all the slide shows you want to loop are in the same folder.
  2. Remember that first and last slides of both presentations will need to have the same background in order to achieve a “seamless effect” (you may opt for a black slide which can greatly simplify this approach).
  3. Open the first presentation. Go to the last slide.
  4. Choose Insert->Object.

  5. Select "Create from File."

Click on the Browse button to open the Browse dialog box. Select the second presentation you want to link to and Click OK.

  6. Put a tick in the "Link" check box, click OK to complete.

You will see an object appearing into your last slide. This object, already selected, is the second presentation you have just inserted.

  7. Right-click on this object you have inserted. Select "Custom Animation".

  9. Click on the Add Effect tab again. Select Show from the "Object actions" drop-down list. With PowerPoint 97, you will find this function inside the "Play Settings" tab.

  10. Click on the Timing tab and make sure that the "Start animation" is set to “After Previous” option. The default time of 00:00 seconds is fine.

  11. Click OK to apply the changes.
  12. Choose Slide Show->Set Up Show.

  13. Click in the "Browsed at a kiosk (full Screen)" check box from the "Show Type" area. Under "Advance Slide" tick "Use timings if present".

  14. Click the OK button.

To tell PowerPoint how long to display each slide:

  1. Choose the "Slide Show" menu, click on "Slide Transition".

  2. Tick "automatically after x seconds" under the "Advance" settings, and uncheck "On mouse click".

  3. Save your file.

Repeat all steps above for the other presentation you want to automatically run.
