How to Extract Embedded Audio Files From A PowerPoint Show

QUESTION: Hello,

I would like to be able to extract the embedded .wav music from a .pps file.

When I use MS PowerPoint I don't see the Speaker Icon on the slide, so I don't know how to get it.

Can you please help?

Thanks,

Jack M.

ANSWER: Dear Jack,

to extract the embedded .wav file(s) from a .pps file (PowerPoint Show), please try to do the following:

  1. Open PowerPoint
  2. Open your .pps file
  3. Go to File > Save as HTML (or Save as Web Page on later PowerPoint
    versions)
  4. Follow all the prompts to convert the presentation to HTML in a new
    folder
  5. Look in the folder: you should find all the audio files ending in .WAV
(They should be named sound001.wav or something like that)

I hope this can help.

All the best
