How To Re-Start Slide Numbering Inside A Presentation
QUESTION: Hi,
I am preparing a presentation that I am going to deliver in two weeks. I would like to begin this presentation with the slide numbering starting from "1", on the third slide. How can I do that?
Thanks,
Karl
ANSWER:
Dear Karl,
thank you for asking this interesting question.
To start your presentation slide numbering from slide three, you can do the following.
- Create a separate presentation for the first two slides and another one containing the rest of the presentation.
- Turn off the slide numbering on the first PowerPoint presentation (the one with two slides only). Do this by opening your presentation and going to the Master Slide and deleting the hash mark that is placed by default at the bottom right of the Master Slide. The hash mark is a hidden code that generates the page number automatically.

- Now, by using the appropriate Action Setting on the last slide of the first presentation link the last slide to the second presentation.

Make now sure that the second presentation has slide numbering turned on and the desired effect should now be reality.
