QUESTION: I am a high school teacher and have been using animations in my PowerPoint lessons.
I have been using the action button to play the linked video file but would rather have the animations embedded in the presentation.
Unfortunately, whenever I try to insert the same video files this way
(Menu: Insert Toolbar -> Movies & Sounds -> Movie From File) they either won't play at all or would play in a very choppy way. I am using windows XP professional, with a Toshiba laptop, 30 gig hard drive & 256 Ram.
Thanks.
Mike
ANSWER: Dear Mike,
Thank you for the question.
Please take into account that video clips that you insert in PowerPoint are always "linked" to your presentation. They can't be embedded within it.
Therefore when you prepare a presentation to be sent to someone, you also need to include the video clip link(s) and separate files and unless otherwise instructed, PowerPoint will expect to find the video clip in the same folder as the original PowerPoint file.
To include a video clip link into your presentation, please follow these steps:
1) Delete the video from your presentation.
2) Copy the video file to the same folder containing your presentation.
3) Re-insert the video (Insert-> Movies and Sounds-> Movie From File).
4) Save your presentation.
