Presentation With Video Clips: How To Copy On An USB Key
QUESTION: Dear Masterviews,
I have a PowerPoint presentation containing different video clips which work fine on my PC.
Since I have to deliver my presentation in front of a small audience, I have decided to distribute it on a
USB key.
In order to allow people to run the presentation directly from the USB key, I have opened the presentation from the key and I have reinserted the video clips (which are .wmv and .avi files) from the key itself. Unfortunately this trick did not work and the video did not show up.
How could I fix that?
Thank you in advance for your time
Al D.
ANSWER: Dear Al,
to be sure that your presentation will show up all your video clips correctly, you will have to first work on it from your PC. Please try to do like this:
- Put the presentation and all the needed video files together in a folder on your main hard drive. (For instance, the folder could be: C:\Presentation... if you are on a PC - any folder created on the desktop if you are on a Mac)
- Delete all the video from the presentation and reinsert them by taking the video files from the newly created folder.
- Save the presentation.
- Now copy the whole folder containing the PowerPoint presentation file and the related video files to the USB key.
- Open the presentation from the USB key and enjoy the show.
