The simplest way to extract one slide from a PowerPoint file is to use the Slides From Files command on the Insert menu in PowerPoint 2003. This preserves any hyperlinks, animations, and media associated with the slide.

- Browse your computer for the slide show that has the slide you want.
Each slide in the show is now displayed in the Slide Finder.
Note: You can add this slide show to the Favorites list in Slide Finder if you plan to use it often.

- Scroll through the slide thumbnails and click on the slide you want to extract.
You can change the Slide Finder view to show slide titles on the left and the currently selected slide on the right.
- Choose the options for how to import the slide.
You can keep the formatting of the slide or import it without formatting and apply new formatting to the copy.
- Click the Insert button and a copy of the slide is now in a new presentation.
You can save the single slide as the only slide in the presentation, or begin adding new slides.
Copying a single slide from one presentation to another, taking a screen shot of a slide and putting the screen shot into another presentation, or exporting one slide as a graphic all work for PowerPoint versions that do not support importing slides from files.
However, there are limitations to making a graphic of the slide - you lose any animation or media associated with the slide.
Copying and pasting an entire slide preserves transitions, animation or media. If this new pressentation file is located in a different folder on your computer and any media is linked to the slide rather than embedded, you also need to change the link to the media.
