Wouldn't it be great to be able to take your television with you anywhere you want around your home apartment?

How about seeing your favorite satellite TV match from your laptop while connected from an Internet cafè on the other side of the world?
And since traditional TV stations do not yet broadcast live over your broadband Internet connection, the only solution left is to enable television content for Internet distribution at your own end.
If you already have a fast Internet connection using ADSL, or cable, and you have a computer at home that is also connected to the Internet, then you have all that is needed to set up your personal Internet TV re-broadcasting system.
New technologies allow you to broadcast your cable, satellite TV, and possibly any other source of digital video including security cameras, webcams or any other video source you can hook up to these new tools.
This week Sony has introduced its own LocationFree hardware. A small box that allows you to watch all of your video channels, DVD and other TV feeds on your laptop or personal media device, no matter where you are around the world, as long as you have a broadband connection.
DigitalWorldTokyo reports:
"Sony's previous LocationFree TV products required the use of a dedicated portable terminal — essentially a portable LCD TV with Wi-Fi connection — that not only added to the cost of the system but could also be a hassle to carry around, especially for people who already travel with a laptop PC.
Recognizing this, or perhaps responding to competition from two U.S. start-ups offering similar products, the latest iteration of the technology, the LF-PK1, isn't so fussy and will stream to laptop PCs running Sony's LocationFree Player or to a PlayStation Portable (PSP) running firmware version 2.5 (a free upgrade to this version is available via the PSP's network update function)."
But Sony's isn't the only game in town.
