With registration, you get your own page dedicated to your Profile that contains all of the slideshows and podcasts you create. Typically the URL is www.slidestory.com/your_username.
If you wanted to test Slidestory, here the recommended steps you would need to take:
a) Start by completing your profile and adding your email, profile info (bio or whatever you want to share), link and location. You can upload a 40x40 pixel image to use as your avatar, a symbol or picture representing you. Avatars are often a person's favorite character, a brief saying, a picture of the person or someone close or objects.
b) Download the Windows Publisher client program so you can begin creating presentations.
c) Install and run the application.
d) A short introduction appears to help you get familiar with how Publisher works. Before getting into the program, enter your Slidestory username and password.

e) Ensure your microphone is correctly set up by clicking Settings > Program Settings > Setup. Click Play Sample to test the speaker volume. Click Record and say a test message until automatic playback plays.

f) Once you're set, add photos by clicking Add and browsing your files until you find the photo you want. Click Add again to grab more pictures. Another option for adding photos is using Windows Explorer (Right-click Start and select Explore). Select the image you want, then drag and drop it into Slidestory. Repeat the steps until you have all the images loaded.

If you wish to copy a PowerPoint presentation, open the presentation in PowerPoint. Click File > Save As. Select JPEG File Interchange Format (*.jpg) from the Save As Type field and save the file. PowerPoint can save the current slide or create separate files for every slide. Add those files to Slidestory Publisher.

In Slidestory, you can edit information about the presentation and the current slide. Just click Edit next to Slidestory Info to select a category and enter a title, description and tags.

Edit the slide by clicking Edit next to Slide info and enter an optional caption and tags.

If an image is rotated sideways, you can fix that by moving the mouse over the selected image and click the right or left arrow.

Select the slide where you wish to record your voice and click the record button to begin recording. When finished, click the stop button. Next to the stop button is Q card for entering your notes to help you plan your narration. These notes don't appear with the presentation online.
Use Preview to check your presentation anytime. Save your work by clicking File > Save Slidestory. When you're happy with the presentation, Publish it. Access the presentation from the same URL you received when you signed up with Slidestory. Click the presentation and copy the new URL to direct people to the selected presentation.

As for podcasting, you can use an image such as the name of the podcast, your company logo or whatever is appropriate. Then record your podcast on the image.

The slideshow also comes with code you and copy and paste into a forum, Web site or blog. Viewers don't need to download anything to watch the presentation. Every home page and presentation has an RSS feed for those who use feed readers.
