Create, Share And Distribute Audio Visual Online Presentations With Photos And Audio: Zooomr

Not just another photo sharing service Zooomr was born October 26th in 2005, to explore the information inside of photos. Zoomr aims to be not merely another photo sharing service, but a tool that facilitates people connecting through visual images and photos.

Presenters may want to do more with photos than just upload them for sharing especially when they have an international audience. Zooomr comes with maps, accepts audio files, and speaks 15 languages.

As soon as you select your language from the footer of the page, the content of Zoomr converts to the selected language even if the content wasn't originally created in that language. Unfortunately, for now the Zooomr's tour is in English only.

Zooomr keeps your choices simple by asking what you want to do and providing a limited set of choices. Zoomr lets the user know what to do so new users can get right to work no matter their level of comfort with computers and online applications.

WelcomeMat is your photo home page. Here you can start uploading photos, review your photos or edit your profile. With a click, Zooomr automatically changes photos to one of five sizes and then provides a direct link to the photo allowing you to share it with others. This feature allows you to share without requiring your friends and colleagues sign up for the service to view your photos. Zooomr also provides code for you to copy and paste into your Web site or blog so that you can easily republish images that you have uploaded to Zoomr.

Presenters can post images from a presentation and add audio files to each image. The audio files, known as Zooomrtations, support WAV and MP3 file formats so you can add audio to your images and build an online presentation.

Viewers who like using a feedreader can access your photos through an RSS feed.

Presenters who frequently travel or rarely stay in one place can upload photos to their personal Zooomr page from a camera phone or another mobile device by email. Emails to Zooomr accept only PNG and JPG images. In addition to PNG and JPG, you can upload Acrobat's PDF as well as small PSD (Photoshop) and TIF files in Zooomr.

Zooomr also features one-click image rotation, tags (keywords), image titles and descriptions, and names of the people who appear in the image. People viewing images can leave a comment and get information about the picture including when the picture was taken and the name of the camera used to take the picture.

If you have an account with Level9, GMail, Meetro, LiveJournal, or OpenID, you can login with those IDs instead of creating a new account.

When viewing thumbnails of images, a few icons appear on the image. Which icons appear depends on the photo and the options available. Zooomr also comes with a Story feature, but information is not posted as of this writing. Presenters will most likely benefit from the story feature when it becomes available.
