Presentation Planning: Desired Outcome Is Everything

Your presentation isn't as good as the amount of hours you spent creating it. The idea that if you wade through countless files and research and spend days fine-tuning the backgrounds of your slides you will somehow end up with a great presentation it totally unfounded.

So how can you save yourself a whole lot of time, and still end up with killer content?

The secret says speaking expert TJ Walker of Speaking Channel TV is to make sure that above all else you begin with a clear desired outcome.

What exactly do you want to achieve by making your speech? For a lot of people this is the one question that never gets asked, lost under the weight of unimportant details.

TJ notes that:

''Every issue is different. Every message is different. But the process shouldn't be different. The process is, when you're organizing your speech, really ask yourself before you put an idea or a message or a fact into your speech, how will this effect my outcome?

If you do that, your speech preparation will become a breeze.''
